As the SADC Heads of State and Government prepare to convene in Durban, South Africa, in August 2026, citizens and civil society from across the region will also gather for the 2026 SADC People’s Summit, taking place from 14–15 August 2026 in Durban, South Africa.
Under the theme:
“The People’s SADC: Strengthening People’s Solidarity in a Polycrisis of Debt, Inequality, Conflict, Extractivism and Climate Change.”
The Summit will bring together civil society organisations, social movements, trade unions, faith-based organisations, community-based organisations, youth and women’s movements, academics, and citizens from across the SADC region for dialogue, solidarity, learning, and collective action.

A nominal registration fee of US$50 per organisation will be required for organisations intending to send delegates to the Summit. The fee will contribute towards conference facilities, interpretation services, conference materials, and other logistical arrangements.

Organisations interested in hosting side sessions during the Summit are also encouraged to indicate their interest through the registration form. The SAPSN Secretariat will follow up to facilitate further coordination and logistical arrangements.
