My name is Susan Chikuba. I was born in 1952 in Chilanga Village. I was one of the 2 children born of my mother but the other one passed on due to poor health services in the area. I managed to finish my primary education and was lucky to get a place to study at Lukosi Secondary School. However, due to long distance to and from school as well as heavy presence of straying wild animals I could no longer continue with my education. This affected my life as well as the future of my children as I could not afford to send them to school.
Now I’m faced with a home full of uneducated children and grandchildren. They are now involved in all sorts of criminal activities for survival and this was all caused by the following inequalities, lack of proper health facilities, education facilities, employment opportunities, poverty, poor road network and marginalisation.
